ABOUT US

Who we are · What we believe · Why we create

Our Mission

Every game night has the potential to become a memory. From the first roll to the final showdown, our mission is to create experiences packed with personality, strategy, and heart. We build those experiences through heroes you root for, mechanics that reward skill, and moments so good you forget to check your phone. We’re a team of passionate gamers building games we’d want to play, for a community we’re proud to be part of.

Our Principles

EVERYONE BELONGS

Dice Throne is for everyone. From lifelong gamers to the person who just sat down for the first time. We design our games to be easy to grab, hard to put down, and welcoming from the very first roll. The best game nights happen when nobody feels left out.

COMMUNITY FIRST

The table is bigger than any one player. We build for friendships, the rivalries, the newcomers being taught the rules, and the veterans teaching them. We exist because of community, everything we create is designed to bring more people into it.

ALWAYS EVOLVING

We never stop pushing. Whether it’s a new hero, a bolder mechanism, or an entirely new way to play. Our commitment is to keep pushing the boundary. The best Dice Throne experience should always feel like it is still ahead of you, ready to be unlocked.

Our Story

In the summer of 2016, in an ordinary kitchen filled with big ideas and bigger uncertainty, two friends stood at a crossroads. Manny Trembley and Nate Chatellier had both recently been laid off from the same company. The future was unclear. The safe path would have been to polish résumés and move on. Instead, they asked a simple question: What if? Out of that moment, Dice Throne was born. Originally, their dream wasn’t cardboard and dice. It was pixels and code. They had envisioned an app-based game and even spoke with a well-known video game developer about pursuing it. But the advice they received was blunt: without a serious marketing budget, breaking into the video game industry would be nearly impossible. The wind was knocked out of their sails. For a moment, the dream wavered. Then they asked, “Why not make a board game?” They launched Dice Throne on Kickstarter with eight unique heroes and a bold vision for fast, asymmetric combat. After the first season found its footing, along came Gavan Brown of Roxley Games. Together, they rebooted Season One with elevated production and expanded the universe further, eventually introducing Dice Throne Adventures, a campaign-style cooperative experience. Dice Throne was no longer just about head-to-head duels. It was about shared adventures. Nearly a decade later, Dice Throne has evolved into a dynamic, ever-expanding franchise featuring more than 30 unique heroes, a rapidly growing Organized Play program, and innovative cooperative expansions with a digital edition on the horizon, continually redefining how the game can be experienced. What began as two friends chasing a simple “what if” has grown into a dedicated team of more than ten full-time creators and a thriving global community of passionate players. All because two friends got laid off, stood in a kitchen, and decided to chase a dream.
